Paper Topic
I think for my topic i would like to write on Finding your personal legend by following omens. Omens are important to find your personal legend because if the omens are bad then you wouldn't want to keep going. Good omens help you out by showing you the way. The way Santiago followed omens in the story shows this with the omens in the story of him getting robbed and such.

Many different things are going on in The Alchemist right now. The boy is learning about omens and what they are meaning to him. the omens he finds are clear to the boy but he is not always sure about if he should follow the omens until he remembers what the king says about the good omens meaning that he should continue on with going for his personal Legend

Alice: Movie vs Book
I found that in the clip that we watched in class to be very different then what the book portrays. During the tea party in the book, the Mad Hatter and other characters at the table have no idea who Alice is and they really do not want anything to do with her by telling her that there is no room for her. In the short clip we watched, the Mad hatter quickly recognized Alice and invited her right over. The movie strays away from the book in those little ways that make you think that there will be lots of those differences.

Character Perspective
Looking from the perspective of the Mad Hatter, when Alice comes to the tea party. The Mad Hatter sees Alice coming and tells her from a distance that there is no room for her to come. This thinking that he does not want her to join in on the tea party. The Mad Hatter also likes to give out riddles to Alice to confuse her about what he is trying to ask or figure out.

Lewis Carroll
Lewis Carroll's writings were quite similar to the politics that were going on in Victorian England at the time. Before becoming Lewis Carroll and writing Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, he wrote many mathematical books under his real name Charles Dodgson. Dodgson wrote a dozen books with different fields of mathematics in them ranging from algebra to geometry.

My Favorite Book
Of the few books that I have read, I would have to say that my favorite is The Great Gatsby. I first read this book my Junior year in High School in my English Literature class. The book was very different in which the plot showed the relationships between people and how they effect others as well.
